here’s the video of my electro magnetic power charge arm…

26 02 2009

This is the video of it all working. Phew, you can’t imagine the work involved to get this thing running. I even use a speed controller to get it “just right”. I hope this vid gives other builders ideas into how they can build there own.

and they said it couldn’t be done ;)

Yes, believe it or not but its done. My electro magnetic power charge  arm is finally installed and actually works, lol. It took a few extra brain cells to figure out how to make it all run smoothly and it really was a tight squeeze to fit it all in (nothing new). The extender arm (when retacted) has to go all the way back and actually rests against the back inner wall. If the bodies diameter was just half an inch too small I wouldnt have been able to close the panel door when the arm retracts. Here are a few pictures and I will uplaod a video later on tonight. enjoy ;)

the latest with my mech arm and charger port…

17 02 2009

No, I havent fallen of the face of the earth, lol. I’m just finishing up the final touches on the mech arm and charger port. You’d be amazed how much work and though that goes into making it all work. From the outside you can only imagine how I got it all to work. But, on the inside you’ll find my “solution” …well…huh…were slightly unconventional. No suprises, its just overly expensive to have vex robotic parts shipped to sweden. Lego mindstorm on the other hand has very similar parts. I’m not using there r/c nor programing stuff, but the gears and motors are perfect.  I’ll post some more info, pics and perhaps video after the weekend.
